IGP Kashmir launches plantation drive on World Arbor Day

In order to mark the World Arbor Day, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, Sayed Javed Mujtuba Gillani today inaugurated and launched a plantation drive in the Police Control Room ground by planting the first Conifer sapling.
The IGP has directed all District Police heads to promote tree plantations in all police establishments across the zone in a bid to contribute in providing pollution free environment to our future generations. IGP on this occasion stressed the need to increase the green vegetation in the sprawling PCR complex especially the Parade Ground and the peripheral boundaries. World Arbor Day is observed every year to promote tree plantations so as to increase the green cover as a major environmental conservation initiative with the aim to curb the pollution.
