J&K govt suspends 22 officials for absence from duty

Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday placed 22 officials, including six doctors, under suspension for being absent from duties during surprise inspections in AnantnagĀ and Budgam districts of the Valley.

While 12 government officials of various departments were suspended in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, 10 others, including six doctors, were placed under suspension in central Kashmir’s Budgam district following surprise inspections by District Development Commissioners concerned, an official spokesman said.

He said District Development Commissioner Budgam inspected many administrative units, including hospitals and educational institutions.

While inspecting Sub District Hospital Chrar-i-Sharief, 10 officials including six doctors were found absent from duty and placed under suspension, the spokesman said.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag conducted surprise visits at Tehsil office, Block Veterinary office, District Veterinary office, artificial breeding station and Poultry Development office in the district as part of efforts to ensure smooth functioning of the government offices and found 12 officials absent from their duties, the spokesman said.
