Will promote JK as single tourist destination

In a significant move, the travel trade fraternity of different regions of Jammu and Kashmir today vowed to work jointly for promotion of JK as a single ideal destination. Members of the tourist trade fraternity of Kashmir, Jammu and Katra met at Katra and vowed to forge alliance and business bonds together for mutual benefit of all the regions.

Representatives of TASK, TAAK, AKTO, JKTA, TAAI, PILTOP, ATOAK and other associations from Kashmir discussed tourism related issues with their counterparts from Katra and Jammu.
MD JKTDC/Director Tourism Kashmir, Farooq A Shah, Director Tourism Jammu R K Verma were present. Shah on the occasion said that it was a significant move that will ensure overall growth of tourism in the state. Shah said to begin with booking and facilitation counters for Kashmiri tourist trade will be set up at Katra and it will be reciprocated on same line in Kashmir. “This will help us draw the Vaishnu Devi tourist rush for sightseeing in Kashmir and vice-versa,” he said.
