Kathua DC to get highest Civil Services honour

The Deputy Commissioner of Kathua, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, has been selected for the country’s highest Civil Services honour, the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration.

The award carrying Rs 5 lakh in cash, gold medal and a Citation will be conferred upon the IAS officer of 2009 batch by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on April 21 in New Delhi during the celebrations of Civil Services Day, an official spokesman said.

This year 10 officers from across the country will be getting the highest civil services honour for their exceptional and extraordinary contribution towards public service and administration, the spokesman said.
