Sgr-Jammu highway remains closed

With reports of fresh rains and snowfall from parts of Kashmir, Srinagar-Jammu highway remained closed for second day on Tuesday.
Reports said that a large number of vehicles are stranded at several places along the highway.
“The road will remain closed on Wednesday also,” Inspector General of Police (Traffic), Muneer Ahmad Khan, told. He said landslides have blocked the road at several places. “At some places, the road has been cleared but there has been huge landslide at Kheri Udhampur,” IGP Khan said, adding that three machines were on the job.
Air traffic from Srinagar was restored Tuesday. “Flights resumed today,” officials said.
MeT officials said that Srinagar recorded rain equivalent to 10.2 mm till 8:30 a.m. They said there were reports of mild rain and snowfall at some places in Kashmir.
