Admin keeps boats ready for vulnerable areas
Contingency plan for Srinagar devised
In the backdrop of prevailing bad weather conditions, the district administration has arranged boats at various Police Stations for the residents of Srinagar and Anantnag to negotiate any emergent situation.
“Six boats are available at Police Station Pantha Chowk, (contact No. 9596770550), four at PS Parimpora (9596770558), 11 at PS Nowgam (9596770559), four each at PS Sadder (9596770523) and PS Raj Bagh (9596770524), three at PS Maisuma (9596770628), one at PS Batamaloo (9596770526), two at PS Kothi Bagh (9596770623), two at PS Chanapora (9596770529) and three at PCR Srinagar (9596222550),” Deputy Commissioner Srinagar said in a handout.
Eight boats have been kept available at district administration Anantnag.
Meanwhile, district administration Srinagar has also made all preparatory contingency arrangements to facilitate people in case of any emergency.
According to an official handout, people can contact joint Control Room established at PCR Srinagar for any flood related information on 0194-2474040, 0194-2452138 and 0194-24509464.
“The district administration has established 42 rescue/relief operation camps at different locations. 3132600 quintals of rice, 19000 quintals of sugar, 16600 quintals of atta, 1693400 quintals of wheat are available at different outlets of CA&PD besides 71314 LPG cylinders and 18514 cylinders of packed Chl have been made available,” the handout informed.
“As many as 3900 tents, 6000 blankets and 900 hand torches are available with district administration which has also kept 217 trucks and buses at various Police Stations and Relief Camping locations. Fifteen trucks have been kept available at various Police Stations of Srinagar district while 182 trucks at CA&PD department Kashmir, 10 trucks at Police Control Room, 4 trucks at other departments besides 3 buses each at relief camping location in Sanat Nagar and EDI Pampore,” the handout added
