Contingency Plan for Srinagar in view of adverse weather forecast

District Administration Srinagar has made all preparatory contingency arrangements to facilitate people in case of an emergency due to adverse weather forecast, officials said Wednesday.

In a communication from Deputy Commissioner Srinagar said the people can contact joint Control Room established at Police Control Room Srinagar for any flood related information on Phone No. (0194-2474040), (0194-2452138) and (0194-24509464).

The District Administration, he said, has established 42 rescue/relief operation camps at different locations.
“3132600 quintals of rice, 19000 quintals of sugar, 16600 quintals of atta, 1693400 quintals of wheat are available at different outlets of CA&PD besides 71314 LPG cylinders and 18514 cylinders of packed Chl have been made available,” the handout informed.

“As many as 3900 tents, 6000 blankets and 900 hand torches are available with District Administration.”
The District Administration has also kept 217 trucks and buses at various Police Stations and Relief Camping locations.

“15 trucks have been kept available at various Police Stations of Srinagar district while 182 trucks at CA&PD department Kashmir, 10 trucks at Police Control Room, 4 trucks at other departments besides 3 buses each at relief camping location in Sanat Nagar and EDI Pampore,” the handout added.
