JK seeks top priority in new national tourism policy

2-day Meeting Begins At New Delhi, Farooq Shah Gives Presentation

A 2-day meeting on New National Tourism Policy started at New Delhi today, in which representatives from various states and union territories participated. Union tourism ministry is organizing the event.

Director Tourism, Kashmir, Farooq Shah and Director Tourism, Jammu, R K Verma represented J&K.
Shah at the meeting suggested that the New National Tourism Policy should give top priority in terms of development and funding to states like Jammu & Kashmir that offer complete and wholesome tourism experience for the visitors.
He said no other region or state offers such a unique and diverse tourism circuit as is being offered by J&K. Shah said J&K under the New National Tourism Policy should be given due share and focused attention.
He said provision of public convenience for tourists every 20 kms en route tourist resorts, besides solid and liquid waste management system at the resorts be included in the policy.
