KCCI seeks CM’s intervention
“Rampant land filling and illegal constructions have left Khushalsar on the verge of extinction and this is something irreversible,” Ashiq said even as the KCCI sought strict action against “erring officials responsible for the mess.” “Mufti Sahib is only hope to set things right on this front,” he said.
Nestled between Hawal and Zadibal areas of old City the Shaher-e-Khaas, Khushalsar receives waters from Dal lake through Gilsarlake and finally merges with adjacent Aanchar lake.
Known for pristine waters, Khushalsar till a few decades ago possessed rich aquatic life including many species of fish while the wetland was also host to migratory birds.
