Kashmir not India’s crown: Hurriyat (G)

‘Mutfi’s claim unrealistic’

Hurriyat Conference (G) today termed as “unrealistic and ridiculous” the chief minister Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s statement that Kashmir is the crown of India. “Kashmir is, of course, a beautiful place but it is not any legal or legitimate part of India. The fact remains that India has forcibly put this crown on its head,” the Hurriyat (G) spokesman said, in a statement.

Terming the Mufti Muhammad Sayeed’s claim as hollow and unrealistic, he said, “This statement is enough to expose the real face of the Mufti Muhammad Sayed, his so-called pro-Kashmir stance and his pitch about the resolution of Kashmir issue. It verily vindicates his statement of being Indian by conviction. He has all along been deceiving and misleading the common and simple people of Kashmir by raising simulated pitch about Kashmir resolution,” the spokesman said, terming as daydream the Mufti’s goal to integrate Kashmir with India. “Once late Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah had also dreamed like this and surrendered his plebiscite movement and his 22-year long struggle even then this dream couldn’t get transformed into the reality and shortly after his death the Kashmir took a new turn and surprised the whole world. Mufti should avoid following the path which leads nowhere and which has a dead end,” the spokesman said, adding that “The sufferings of Kashmiris can neither be cured by the sweet words of Mufti Sayeed nor by constructing roads and bridges.”
