Gilani calls for strike in Shopian on May 30

Gilani calls for strike in Shopian on May 30The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has called for a public gathering in Shopian town on May 29 after the Friday prayers and complete shutdown in Shopian district on May 30 to mark the sixth anniversary of rape and murder of two girls, Aasiya and Neelofar.

“Then Omar Abdullah regime played an important role in shielding the real culprits involved in the heinous crime and provided a safe passage for their escape,” Syed Ali Gilani said in a statement in Srinagar.

After the mass gang rape by the forces in Kunan-poshpora, the double rape and murder incident in Shopian is the most gruesome tragedy in the history of Kashmir and this incident shook the conscious of every Kashmiri, he added.

“There were enough evidences to prove the hand of the Indian forces into the dual murder and rape, but all those proofs were destroyed and the persons who knew anything about the incident were silenced by using pressure and force,” he maintained.
