JMC carries out sanitation drive in city, BJP leaders listen to people’s problemsThe Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today carried out its sanitation drive in Maheshpura and Bakshi Nagar areas of Ward Number 27 and 28 in the city during which the locals also highlighted their problems.

The BJP leaders were also present on the occasion to thoroughly review the sanitation of the areas and also listened to the problems of the locals.

The locals highlighted that many lanes and drains need up-gradation and there is a dire requirement of many other basic necessities in the area.

During their tour to Maheshpura Chowk, local residents demanded a public toilet in order to cater to basic needs of the public. The residents also demanded repairs of street lights and it was also brought to the notice of officials that there are many uncovered spots above the nallah which have become a problem for local residents.

The residents also highlighted that many estimates were prepared a long time back but the work for those has not started as yet. They also complained about the blockage of drains in many lanes of the area thus causing problems for locals.

During their tour to Bakshi Nagar area behind Geeta Mandir, locals highlighted that a park in the area is in a very bad condition.

The residents of the area also thanked the JMC officials and BJP leaders for touring the area and also appreciated JMC’s sanitation drive in Jammu City. The JMC officials also assured the leaders and the public that the works will be taken on priority and every necessary step will be taken to improve the sanitation system in the areas.

Mandal President, BJP, Ayodhya Gupta, State Vice-President, BJYM, Karan Sat Sharma, Sanjay Sawhney, Sanitation Officers, JMC, Dr Jaffer, Darshan Abrol, Anoop Sharma, Amarjit Singh, Prem Gupta, Rahul Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Hardev Singh, Sameer Vohra, Jatin Sethi and others were present on the occasion.
