Clashes broke out in Baramulla town in north Kashmir after news of the killing of a former militant in Sopore reached here, witnesses said Monday.
They said police responded with tear gas shelling after protesters shouting anti-government slogans filled the streets.
A former militant Aijaz Ahmad Reshi was shot dead in Mandji area of Sopore town by unidentified gunmen at around 8:30 am today.
