Kashmir journalist thrashed by police escorting minister
A journalist was allegedly assaulted by police escorting Jammu and Kashmir Agriculture Minister Ghulam Nabi Lone in Srinagar on Monday.
The incident took place when Javaid Malik, a senior editor with a local newspaper, tried to seek the minister’s intervention after his security guards allegedly passed a lewd comment on Malik’s wife, reports said.
Security men allegedly stopped Malik and beat him up ruthlessly.
Later, they bundled him into a vehicle and threw him near a police station.
Malik has lodged an FIR with the police regarding the incident.
