Large scale corruption discourages young entrepreneursValley’s prominent businessmen today resolved to work together to seek redress of issues confronting various sectors of Kashmir economy.
At a meeting here today convened by Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA), the businessmen resolved to work together to bring pressure on the state government to devise trade-friendly policies.
The businessmen pointed out that “large scale corruption” in the state was a major reason discouraging young entrepreneurs.
Chairman, Hoteliers’ Club, Mushtaq Chaya said they will support all the initiatives aimed for the promotion of the trade.
He said the various sectors of economy in Kashmir had been facing numerous problems which need to be resolved.
“We should not leave any stone unturned to get our problems resolved. We should ensure that government takes us on board while formulating any policy for the trade and industry. Unless and until traders’ bodies are allowed to participate in the government’s decision making, the trade won’t grow,” Chaya said.
Chairman, KEA, Muhammad Yaseen Khan said they would ask the government to take the business community on board before finalizing any decision regarding the trade.
Present in the meeting were: Muhammad Shafi Trumboo, Mushtaq Ahmad Burza, Sultan Mir, Altaf Ahmad Gunna, Arjun Amla, Baldev Singh, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Muhammad Ismaeel Beigh, Nasir Kawoosa ,Ghulam Rasool Guroo  Zahoor Ahmad Watali, Abdul Rahim Guroo, Abdul Raouf Trumboo, Talib Hussain Amin Kanwal, Zahoor Trumboo, Tariq Ghani and Muhammad Afzal Parray.
