Lashkar-e-Islam is India-sponsored: UJC

UJC spokesman Syed Sadakat Hussain Monday said that Indian agencies had created Lashkar-e-Islam to mislead the people of Kashmir and defame the ‘ongoing freedom struggle.’

Lashkar-e-Islam is India-sponsored - UJCUnited Jihad Council today said that Lashkar-e-Islam, the group claiming responsibility of attacks on telecommunication installations and personnel, was the creation of Indian intelligence agencies.

The statement comes a day after Hurriyat (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani asked the conglomerate of militant groups to reveal truth about the new organization.

UJC spokesman Syed Sadakat Hussain Monday said that Indian agencies had created Lashkar-e-Islam to mislead the people of Kashmir and defame the ‘ongoing freedom struggle.’

In a statement to CNS, the spokesperson said, “UJC has already made it clear that Lashkar-e-Islam has nothing to do with the freedom struggle going on in Kashmir. This group got exposed when it threatened the Hurriyat leaders asking them not to participate in the funeral processions of martyrs. The activities of this group are the result of popularity of Mujahideen in Kashmir. India created this group out of frustration.”

“UJC wants to make it clear that it will give a befitting reply to all those elements hell-bent to defame the Kashmir freedom struggle. Leaders and people of Kashmir are well aware about the shoddy character of Indian agencies and they will also help UJC to deal with this Indian-sponsored group,” the spokesperson said. (CNS)
