CNG stations in JK?

Committee on Environment discussed the environment concerns of Jammu and Kashmir at a meeting today.

CNG stations in JKThe committee discussed measures initiated by Environment department to provide CNG/LPG as alternative fuel in the automobiles besides installation of LPG/CNG stations in Jammu and Srinagar.

The committee sought status report from department concerned on any plan to replace the diesel automobiles by CNG/LPG in the state especially Jammu and Srinagar cities, within one month for scrutiny of the committee.

The committee discussed total number of Pollution Checking Centers in the state and asked the concerned authorities to ensure proper monitoring and checking to these centers.

The committee sought report on working of the centers within 15 days for further strengthening of these centers.

The members expressed serious concern over the pollution and its impact on environment in the State. They gave suggestions to safeguard the environment in the state. The meeting was chaired by MLA, G M Saroori.
