Micromax launches Xpress 2 octa-core phone at Rs 5,999

Micromax has launched its new budget smartphone, Canvas Xpress 2, at Rs 5,999. The phone will be available exclusively on Flipkart on August 4.

Registrations for the smartphone start today at 6PM on Flipkart website.

The Xpress 2 sports a 5-inch HD (720x1280p) IPS display which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection to guard against minor scratches.

Micromax Canvas Express 2 is powered by a 1.4GHz MediaTek MT6592 octa-core processor with 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (almost 5GB is usable). The phone features a microSD card slot to expand storage.

The smartphone sports a 13MP rear camera that supports full-HD video capture accompanied by a dual LED flash. It has a 2MP front-facing camera for selfies.

The dual-sim phone supports 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio and GPS but doesn’t include a 4G radio.

At this price, the Canvas Xpress 2 will compete with the likes of the CoolPad Dazen 1 and Xiaomi Redmi 2.
