The speakers at a seminar chaired by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in Srinagar have said that a conspiracy is being hatched to repeat the history of 1947 Muslim genocide in Jammu region.

The speakers vowed that attempts to change the demography of the region would be countered at all levels. They appealed to people to hold protest rallies and demonstrations on Friday to mark solidarity with the Jammu Muslims. They asked the Muslims of the region to safeguard the unmatched sacrifices rendered by their forefathers since 1947. The seminar was addressed by Syed Ali Gilani and others who spoke on the occasion included Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Aasiya Andrabi, Muhammad Abdullah Tari, Muhammad Sharif Sartaj, Ghulam Nabi Sumjhi and Abdul Majeed Zargar.

A resolution unanimously passed at a seminar organized by the AJK chapter of the forum led by the veteran leader in Islamabad, today made it clear that the ongoing struggle in occupied Kashmir was not against any sect or religion, but to achieve the basic right of the self-determination of all the people living in the territory.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference at its Executive Council and General Council meeting in Srinagar, today, expressed concern over the way the Hindutva agenda was being promoted by Indian extremist and communal forces in India and Jammu and Kashmir.

An investigation conducted by a noted Kashmiri journalist, Muzamil Jaleel, has revealed that the attack on a Jammu mosque in 2004 attributed to Mujahideen was actually carried out by Hindutva forces. The report compiled for an Indian newspaper, said that no re-investigation was conducted by police despite the Indian National Investigation Agency had confirmed that Hindu extremists had carried out the attack. Two people were killed and 19 others injured in a grenade attack on a Friday prayer gathering in a mosque at Peer Mitha in Jammu.

The veteran Kashmiri intellectual and ambassador, Muhammad Yusuf Buch, talking to a delegation of Kashmiri representatives at his residence in New York urged the Kashmiris to carry on the liberation movement, despite the ongoing Indian state terrorism. The delegation comprised Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai and Dr A R Meer.
