Shaher-e-Khaas traders decry traffic jams

All Kashmir Traders Federation Shaher-e-Khaas Zaina Kadal on Friday expressed concern over frequent traffic jams in the old city and demanded regulation of vehicular movement.

Shaher-e-Khaas traders decry traffic jams“Frequent traffic jams have severely affected our business. We urge the government to take measures for ensuring smooth vehicular movement. We also demand car parking facilities at various areas in Shaher-e-Khaas,” said Nazir Ahmad Shah President of the Federation.
The traders also appealed JK Bank authorities to keep the bank closed during one of the gazetted holidays next week. “Traders mostly depend on JK Bank for making transactions. There are three gazetted holidays before Eid next week. We urge the JK Bank vice-president AR Shigan and business cluster head Mehboob Altaf Gani to keep the bank’s branches in Srinagar open on one of the gazette holidays for convenience of traders,” Shah said.
Meanwhile, in a meeting the Federation decided to give heavy discount to customers in Shaher-e-Khaas on the eve of Eid.  The meeting was attended by Federation office bearers including Omar Gani, Tariq Buchh and Nisar Zargar.
