People stage protests against ‘shortage’ of doctors in Ramban
The residents of Banihal today staged protests over “shortage” of doctors in various hospitals here and accused the state government of “adopting discriminatory policies” against them, police said.
The residents came out on roads and raised slogans against BJP-PDP government. They also accused the health department of adopting discriminatory policies with the residents of these areas, they said.
Angry protesters also blocked the Jammu-Srinagar national highway for some time.
“We need doctors as there is acute shortage in all the hospitals in the district that is why we held a protest here so that our voice reaches the people who are at the helm of affairs,” a protester said.
