‘Fake’ appointment order roils Education Deptt

Amid the doubts over degree certificates possessed by ReT teachers, a new scam has surfaced in school education department.

‘Fake’ appointment order roils Education DepttA government order with forged signature of the senior government functionary has been issued from the department authorizing the appointment of four candidates of division cadre for class IV posts in the school education department.

The “forged” order number 444 of September 12 regarding the appointment of class IV posts in divisional cadre has been advertised in local media on September 15.

“The order is completely forged. We have not made any such appointment in the department so far,” officials in education minister’s personal section told .

The miscreant has used the forged signature of Under Secretary to government, school education department.

Following the advertisement of the order in media, Secretary school education department has shot a letter to Inspector General of Police, Crime Branch to investigate in to the matter.

“In view of the fake appointment order advertised in media on September 15, it is requested to register a criminal case under appropriate sections of law and other cognizable offences to take effective action against the culprits,” reads a letter shot to IGP Crime.

In the letter, Secretary school education department has stated that the four candidates have been shown as appointed in the department. However the perusal of the order reveals that no such order has been issued by the department.

“The signatures of the under secretary to government, school education department are forged,” the letter reads.

Notably the ‘fake appointment order’ issued on September 12 this year is signed by the Under Secretary school education department and granted the appointment to four candidates including one under RBA category.

“The appointees are directed to report to Director Srinagar for issuance of formal order within 21 days from the date of issuance of this order,” reads the order number 444 which is treated as null and void by the department.

The order reads that the candidates should be allowed to join in the department after producing their requisite certificates.

IGP Crime Muneer Ahmad Khan however said he his department didn’t receive any letter. “As of now the letter didn’t reach to my table. Action will be taken after reading the contents,” IGP said.

He said inquiry will be initiated action will be taken against the culprits. “But let this letter reach my office. Then only we can go ahead,” he said.
