Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University got new VC

Prof Javed Musarrat, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Aligarh Muslim University, has been appointed as the Vice-Chancellor of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, for five years.

An order to this effect was issued today by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, also Chancellor of the university, the government said.

“The appointment has been made on the basis of recommendations of the search committee headed by Prof Amitabh Mattoo, Adviser to the Chief Minister,” it said.

Professor Musarrat had served in the United States as visiting scientist, Michigan State University, and visiting assistant professor, Ohio State University. He was chair professor, DNA Research Chair, King Saud University, Riyadh, as well.
