BJP issues show cause notice to Hari Om for open letter to PM

Within hours of the BJP ideologue Prof Hari Om writing an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi against policies of the coalition government, the party issued him a show cause notice, seeking his explanation within seven days.

BJP issues show cause notice to Hari Om for open letter to PMProf Hari Om, who was once considered as the only ideologue of the saffron party, today sought to draw the attention of the Prime Minister towards “anti-Jammu and divisive agenda being propagated by the PDP-BJP government in the state”.

Irked over repeated statements issued by Prof Hari Om, the BJP this afternoon served a show cause notice on him. Narendra Singh, general secretary of the party, issued the notice.

“It has come to the notice of the party that you have been airing public statements on your own without the consultation or consent of the party leaders concerned. This has invited resentment from the public as well as party activists and tends to present the party negatively,” Singh said in the show cause notice.

“You have released to the media a letter addressed to the Prime Minister which is highly critical of the party’s actions in the state, which include the formation of the coalition government with the PDP. You have labelled the party’s overall conduct as pernicious and gross, thereby attempted to defame the party,” the show cause notice stated, adding, “Therefore, you are hereby called upon to submit your explanation within seven days failing which you shall be expelled forthwith from the party for gross indiscipline and misconduct.”
