Checking, Frisking intensified in Kashmir ahead of PM Modi’s visitA massive security blanket has been thrown across Kashmir to prevent any untoward incident during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s November 7 visit to the valley.

Frisking operations have been intensified with police, army and paramilitary forces erecting barricades on highways and all the entry and exit points of the summer capital Srinagar where Modi will address a rally.

Reports and witnesses said that motorists and pedestrians are being stopped at the barricades and asked to prove their identity.

Similar reports were received from northern and southern parts of the valley with army frisking people at various places, especially Pattan in Baramulla district.

A newspaper report said that army and SOG personnel thrashed passengers and drivers “in the name of frisking’ today morning at Garoora in Bandipora district of north Kashmir.

Authorities have already detained or placed under all top separatist leaders in the run up to ‘million march’ announced to counter PM Modi’s rally on Nov 7.
