Engineer Rashid an independent MLA of Langate constituencies in Kashmir and President of Awami Ittihad Party (AIP) on Sunday accused state government of ‘misusing state machinery’ to make Narendra Modi’s rally a success, report said.

Rashid said that the state government are leaving no stone unturned in using district civil and police administration to convey public in Modi’s rally.

On the other side Hurriyat hardliner, Syed Ali Shah Geelani have decided to bring million Kahsmiri’s on street in Srinagar, to counter Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally on November 7.

Geelani called a meeting of its Majlis-e-Shura (Advisory Council) in which all the 24 constituents participated on Saturday. It was decided that the leaders will span across the Jammu and Kashmir to mobilise support for the proposed march.

Ayaz Akbar, spokesperson of Hurriyat reportedly said, “Our leaders will go village to village and door to door to mobilise support for the March. It will be a historic day because it will prove on whose side the people are”.

Hurriyat hard-liners also decided to maximise its social media outreach to mobilise the masses particularly youth to join the March. Geelani said that the Million March will refresh the memories of the mass gatherings of 2008. The venue is just 200 metres away from the venue where Narendra Modi’s public rally is scheduled.
