The exhibition is being organised and sponsored by the Leh Development Authority (LDA), Leh. Tashi Dawa gave a brief presentation on his collection of the rescued rock piece and rock art replicas and photographs depicting more than 2,000-year-old elements of Tibetan and Central Asian art.

The CEC appreciated his work and asked Dr Zaida, CEO, LDA to undertake the preservation works of rock art by the LDA. He told Dr Zaida to organise such exhibitions at a large scale involving the council, administration and social institutions to create awareness among people on the importance and preservation of these valuable heritage monuments.
He also promised to take up the matter of protecting the rock art during road constructions with the Border Roads Organisation and paramilitary forces.
Dr Zaida said the LDA realised that awareness among the masses was one of the steps that could be initiated. “This exhibition is one of the first steps we have taken to create awareness and conserve the rock art heritage of Ladakh,” he added.
