Govt ‘forcing’ us to attend Modi’s Rally, say daily wagers

Govt ‘forcing’ us to attend Modi’s Rally, say daily wagersThe daily rated workers from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district Thursday alleged that the government has been forcing them to attend Narendra Modi’s rally in Srinagar on November 7. A group of daily rated workers working in different departments like Agriculture, Horticulture, Forest, Fisheries, Labour and Animal Husbandry from Pulwama district told CNS that Directors of the concerned departments have issued a circular wherein they have been directed to assemble at Town Hall Pulwama at 6 on Friday evening.

“After getting assembled there we will be taken to Srinagar to attend Modi’s rally,” the daily rated workers said adding that despite not wishing to attend the rally, they are forced to do so.

“How can the government be so rude and insensitive towards us. We had voted for this government for the development and eradication of unemployment but it is forcing us to do which we abhor,” the delegation said.

Meanwhile, SPO’s working in Police Department have also been asked by authorities in Pulwama to assemble at Police Lines on Friday. “We have been asked to ensure our presence at Police Lines Pulwama for physical fitness test but we are sure that we will also be taken to Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium to attend Modi’s rally,” said an SPO wishing not to be named.
