Mehbooba as CM not acceptable: Hari Om

Mehbooba as CM not acceptable - Hari OmAmid rumours of change of guard in Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leader Prof Hari Om has written a letter to national BJP president Amit Shah, cautioning him against accepting Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister. Prof Hari Om, former political adviser to the state BJP president, said Mehbooba was not acceptable to people of Jammu region at any cost.

“Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has already caused irreparable damage to national interest in the state by advocating the Pakistani cause and alienated the patriotic and suffering people of Jammu province by devising and ruthlessly implementing the patently Kashmir-centric and out-and-out anti-Jammu policies,” wrote Prof Hari Om.

“National interest and interests of people of Jammu province will be further jeopardised in case Mehbooba is made the Chief Minister. A number of senior BJP leaders and politically conscious people of Jammu said this to me during interaction with them over the disturbing development,” he cautioned.

In his open letter, Prof Hari Om said, “The view of all well-wishers and friends of the BJP, who felt dejected after the BJP’s defeat in Bihar, is that it is time for the BJP to withdraw support to the PDP.” He warned that accepting Mehbooba as the leader would be like playing with fire.

It would undo all that the Jan Sangh, BJP, RSS, similar patriotic organisations and committed workers did all these 68 years of accession to integrate Jammu and Kashmir into India, he added.
