State to have e-ration cards soon
Jammu and Kashmir will soon have e-ration cards as government has directed authorities of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department to take measures in this regard.
“E-ration cards will be given in J&K”, Minister for Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Choudhary Zulfkar said today.
He directed the concerned officers to introduce e-ration cards and link them with Aadhaar cards which would enable the beneficiaries of Public Distribution System (PDS) to get the cards online from the government’s web portal without hassles.
The Minster asked the concerned department to develop public distribution system (PDS) portal of the department and directed them to make the digitised list of beneficiaries and upload it for more transparency.
The minister also stressed upon timely distribution of ration in remote and hilly areas well in time.
