Mahmood Shah flags off trekkers to Tosamaidan

Director Tourism Kashmir Mahmood A Shah Sunday flagged off a group of 40 mountaineers at Tourist Reception Centre Srinagar who will trek around Tosamaidan in Budgam district for two days.
Mahmood Shah flags off trekkers to TosamaidanOn the first day, the trekkers would start from Shonglipora and reach to Boodoor through Tosamaidan meadows. The trekkers would camp at Dam Dam meadows to stay for a night where from they would trek to Wateder, China Gali, Hadikal, Koker Seer and other nearest places.
The hikers would come back the second day.
Director Tourism Kashmir said that this year the trekking expedition is part of the adventure tourism program of the department in which local trekkers get the opportunity to explore natural beauty in Kashmir.
He the trekking to Tosamadain meadows would be an annual feature in the month of December.
“We want to end this year’s trekking expeditions with this program. This is a short trek as the winter has already set in. It would not be possible to trek after it snows heavily. This program has been concluded the expeditions of this year,” said Mamood Shah.
He said department of tourism would also organize winter games which include national ski championship and also ice-skating camp and ice-climbing camps.
