Met predicts rain, snow in Valley
The Met Department has today predicted rain in plains and snow in the higher reaches of Kashmir over the next 24 hours while the minimum temperature stayed above the freezing point in most parts of the Valley last night.
“Light rain predicted at isolated places in Kashmir over the next 24 hours while there are chances of snowfall in the higher reaches of the Valley during this period,” a Met official said.
The ski-resort of Gulmarg was the only place to register sub-zero temperature last night, he said.
Kupwara town was the second coldest place with a minimum temperature of 0.3°C. In the rest of the Valley, including Srinagar, the minimum temperature hovered around 2°C, the Met official said. —PTI
