Pakistan Thursday said the country wants result oriented dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues including Kashmir.“We want to reiterate that the country wants result oriented dialogue with India to resolve all outstanding issues including Kashmir and promote bilateral relations,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said at his weekly news briefing, here.
He said they were waiting how to move forward after the meeting between Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in Paris.
Modi and Sharif had a brief meeting during which they warmly held hands before sitting down for a chat, with the Indian side describing the encounter as a “brief exchange of courtesies” but Pakistanis terming it as a “good” meeting.
Answering a question on ISIS, the Spokesman said Daesh is a terrorist outfit and there are no footprints of it in Pakistan.
“Pakistan is committed to root out terrorism from the country and in this connection operation Zarb-e-Azb is going on successfully,” Qasi said adding Pakistan is also cooperating at international level to eliminate terrorism by intelligence sharing.
He said Pakistan is in favour of coordinated action against terrorists and not in favour of joint action.
Foreign Office Spokesman also announced that Islamabad will host two day Heart of Asia Conference from Tuesday. “The theme of the Conference is ‘Istanbul Process – enhanced cooperation in countering security threat and promoting connectivity in the heart of Asia’.
He said agenda of the Heart of Asia Conference is aimed at cementing regional ties. “It also aimed at expanding cooperation among Afghanistan and regional partners in countering terrorism and elimination of poverty and extremism.”
