The policemen instantly note down the registration number of the vehicle and flash the message to the headquarters for recording the details.
“If somebody does not turn up to pay the challan amount or does not even bother to go to the courts if the challan is submitted there, then the proceedings for the cancellation of the registration of such vehicle would be initiated,” said a traffic head policeman, who was supervising pasting of such notices on wrongly parked vehicles in one of the city streets. On the other hand, many people have hailed the move, saying it also saves the vehicle owner from inconvenience as once his vehicle was towed, he face lot of problems.
“At least, if you get notice pasted on your vehicle for wrong parking, you have 15 days period to go to the SSP office to submit the penalty amount,” said a vehicle owner.
