Mehbooba and Omar spar over Sainik Colony Issue

Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and National Conference leader Omar Abdullah exchanged heated words in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly on Monday morning and the war of words eventually escalated on Twitter

The two leaders had sparred earlier in the day over the issue of Sainik colonies (residential complex for former servicemen) in the state.

Mufti accused the latter of spreading rumours about her on social media platform, to which Abdullah quickly retaliated saying, “I know you will be happy if I delete my Twitter account”.

People’s Democratic Party, to which Mufti belongs, has favoured establishment of Sainik colonies in the state. However, many regional parties of Kashmir are against this stand of PDP.
