Rain brings respite from scorching heat for Jammuites
The city has got some respite from the scorching heat with a sudden downpour here this afternoon after more than 15 days of dry spell.
The sudden windstorm and rain made the weather pleasant for residents, who had been facing the severe heat wave with temperature above 40°C.
The heat wave conditions in the Jammu region had pushed the maximum temperature in parts of the region to 43°C. It plummeted by four degrees in the last 24 hours.
Rain and thundershowers in the state led to fall of temperature. The drop in temperatures has made life easier for people of the region.
“The rain has given a big relief after a gap of about 15 days and made the weather pleasant,” said Abhishek Gupta, a medical representative.
The Metrological Department forecast says, “Partly cloudy sky. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 36°C and 24°C, respectively.”
