Nine hurt as ceiling collapses in Kashmir University
Nine students were injured when the ceiling of a classroom collapsed at the University of Kashmir this morning.
Officials said 30 students were present in a classroom at the Economics Department when the ceiling collapsed, injuring nine students while others had a narrow escape.
“The injured are being treated at the university health centre,” said the Public Relations Officer of the university.
“We have already ordered a safety audit of all the buildings on the campus, which will be done soon,” said officials from the university, adding that the students were safe and two students, who complained of nausea after the incident, were shifted to the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences. They further said a committee has been constituted to find the cause of the incident.
