Rashid says not implementing the law proved JK not ‘Atoot Ang’

State President of the rightwing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sat Sharma Wednesday said implementing the new Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime in Jammu Kashmir would be a slap on the face of Hurriyat leaders.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly on the resolution presented by Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu for implementing GST in the State, Sharma said implementing the new tax regime would be a slap on the face of separatists who do not accept that Jammu Kashmir to be an integral part of India.
“Implementing GST in Jammu Kashmir will strengthen the nationalist forces throughout India as it laws foundation of ‘one tax, one India,’” he said.
However, Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) leader and MLA Langate, Engineer Rashid said not having implemented GST so far proved Jammu Kashmir was not an integral part of India.
“It has proved everyone in India that Jammu Kashmir is not an ‘Atoot Ang’ of India,” he said.
Rashid said no application of GST in the State had made it clear to the marriage between India and Jammu Kashmir was without a Nikah or Saat Fere (seven rounds).
