Are rising prices of essential commodities a sign of ‘Acche Din’?: Congress questions BJP

Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla, while slamming the BJP Government for its failure to check price rise of essential commodities, today said the central government is “burdening the common man for enriching a handful of its friends”.
He hit out at the BJP Government over the steep hike in prices of LPG cylinders and mocked are these the “Achche Din” as was promised by Prime Minister Narender Modi.
Bhalla was addressing a meeting at Gandhi Nagar. He said the truth is that the Prime Minister and the BJP are breaking the ordinary man’s back by overburdening him with unprecedented taxes.
Earlier the Congress supporters and leaders on held series of protests at Gangyal and Nai Basti areas against the hike in the rates of essential commodities and slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not fulfilling the promises he had made to the people before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
Bhalla said that the BJP, which came to power at the Centre by raising hue and cry about price rise and promising ‘Achhe Din’, has completely failed to control the prices of essential commodities, including onion, vegetables and pulses, and the general public is facing hardships in sustaining their livelihood.
