Only in Kashmir protestors are being showered pellets, bullets and lathis: Aasiya Andrabi

Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Syeda Aasiya Andrabi on Wednesday sternly condemned, what she said, the use of indiscriminate force against the peacefully protesting students across Valley.
“While protests over the brutal Kathua rape and murder are held across the world, it is only in Kashmir that protestors are being showered pellets, bullets and lathis,” Aasiya Andrabi.
“It is an irony that we are not allowed to mourn and protest against the brutal rape and murder of our own child. World is protesting but when we come out to protest, bullets and pellets are being showered upon us. Why is this happening here? Why aren’t we allowed to express our anger against the brutalities committed against our own children,” she said.
She said, “Huge rallies were once again held across Jammu and Kashmir today against the brutality that was inflicted on the innocent soul in Kathua. Apart from demanding justice for the victim girl, people once again asserted that they want an end to Indian control as cases like that of Kathua girl will continue to happen until India is here.”
“We condemned the harassment and use of vulgar language by the policeman against a daughter in Islamabad (Anannag),” She said, adding that “Kashmiris will not tolerate such treatment of their daughters.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson of the DeM said, “While five among the seven arrested women in Pinglana two weeks ago were bailed out on Tuesday, two women have been kept detained as serious charges have been leveled against them.”
