GOI using every weapon to muzzle our voice: Syed Ali Geelani

Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani today alleged that New Delhi was using every weapon of oppression to muzzle the voice of people of Jammu Kashmir to stop them from pursuing their cause of right to self-determination.
“New Delhi is suffering from arrogance of power and has tried its best to muzzle our voice but has utterly failed to do so. No power on earth can deter us from achieving our cherished goal of right to self-determination,” Geelani said while addressing mourners telephonically at the residence of 14-year old militant Mudasir Ahmad who was recently killed in a gunfight with the forces at Mujgund here.

“Brutality of the oppressor and their trigger happy armed forces has converted this paradise on the earth into a hell, suffocating every living creature in this piece of land,” Geelani said.
He said, “Since 1947, our nation while nourishing Kashmir movement and demanding their right to self-determination, has presented huge sacrifices, however, New Delhi with its military might brutally killed our innocent people.”
Reiterating his appeal to stay away from polls Geelani said, “Participation in any election amounts to treason and betrayal with blood of our youth. We believe that any election process which Delhi tries to conduct is nothing but an armed drill to threaten the common people thereby strengthening its control on our land.”
Meanwhile, Geelani expressed shock and grief on the demise of foster mother of his younger son Naseem Geelani . “Hailing from Bandipora deceased, wife of Professor Muhammad Maqbool sahab was a very pious lady with a noble humanitarian attitude who faced hardships of life very bravely and nourished my son more than his sanguinary mother,” he said, praying for her eternal peace and courage to the bereaved family particularly Maqbool Sahab to bear this tragic loss as losing life partner at this fragile age is very painful.
