BJP’s decline continues in Kashmir and Jammu: Rattan Lal

Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) has asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) scattered is just like playing cards in Kashmir Valley while it has already lost its political space in Jammu Province too. It would be more appropriate to state that as of today BJP has lost its political ground and relevance across the entire Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory due to its anti people policies, he added.

The senior NC leader stated this while addressing a meeting of party’s functionaries at Katra in District Reasi. The meeting was chaired by its District President Mr Jagjeevan Lal was held in continuation of series of district meetings of National Conference across the Jammu region in view of the upcoming elections in J&K.

While elaborating upon the BJP’s status and position in the Valley, Rattan Lal Gupta said that earlier BJP won only 3 seats out of 140 seats in DDC polls in Kashmir which clearly reveals the saffron party’s debacle there. He said that BJP had promised moon to the people of Jammu province but delivered a very poorly on ground. Moreover it arrogantly and arbitrarily continues to follow the anti people policies with the result that it has met the same fate as that in Valley with people of Jammu region having totally discarded this party. The worst part of the things is that BJP betrayed the trust reposed by the people of region and they are now feeling cheated by the saffron party, he added.

The NC Provincial President said that the power hungry BJP leaders are day dreaming about regaining power in J&K not realizing that the saffron party has betrayed the faith of people of Jammu region. He said that BJP miserably failed to resolve the issues of the people Jammu region which is evident from the ruckus over installation of smart meters, closure of vital National Highway in District Kathua, non availability of basic amenities, besides a long list of other issues like illegal imposition of property tax. In nutshell, BJP totally failed to fulfill the aspirations of the people of Jammu region.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that both Jammu and Kashmir provinces are today strongholds of National Conference as people now acknowledge the achievements of the party during its governance in the erstwhile J&K. He said that NC is confident and sure enough to achieve unprecedented success in the in upcoming ULB elections as well as LAHDC polls in J&K and Ladakh UTs respectively.

Earlier Babu Jagjeevan Lal, District President, under whom meeting was convened, apprised the senior functionaries about the dismal performance of both the Reasi and Katra Municipal Committees and asserted that the people are not at all happy with the working of these municipal bodies.

Tariq Butt District Secretary Reasi, Ashok Mehta, Raj Kumar Sharma, and Gandarb Singh Block Presidents and Sher Singh Senior leader NC raised serious concern over the deplorable condition of holy towns Katra and Reasi where crores of pilgrims visit every year.

Rattan Lal assured that NC will develop Katra town on international pattern with all the state of art modern amenities, if the party is voted to power in the ensuing polls. He asked party workers to gear up for the upcoming polls leaving no stone unturned to pave the way for party’s unprecedented success.

Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary stressed for the unity and brotherhood by strengthening the secularism fabric in J&K. He said we can only win the elections unless we identify ourselves with the burning problems and the issues of the people.

Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President Jammu was accompanied by the Pardeep Bali Provincial Secretary, Abdul Gani Teli Chairman OBC Cell, Th. Yashvardhan Singh Additional Spokesperson and Rakesh Singh Raka Vice President Central Zone.
