Kashmir Faces Triple Threat of RSV, Influenza, and Covid
Kashmir is facing a triple threat of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), influenza, and Covid-19, doctors have warned.
RSV is a common cause of respiratory tract infections in infants and young children, but it can also affect the elderly. Symptoms include a stuffy or runny nose, persistent coughing, and noisy breathing. In severe cases, it can lead to pneumonia.
Influenza is a highly contagious viral infection that can cause fever, cough, sore throat, muscle aches, and headache. It can also lead to serious complications, such as pneumonia and bronchitis.
Covid-19 is a respiratory illness caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Symptoms can range from mild to severe, and can include fever, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, and diarrhea.
Doctors are advising people to get vaccinated against influenza and Covid-19, and to take precautions to avoid getting sick, such as washing their hands frequently, avoiding close contact with people who are sick, and staying home when they are sick.
