Six Kulgam Workers Killed in Tragic Shimla Road Accident
A devastating road accident in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh on Monday morning claimed the lives of six workers from Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir, leaving six others critically injured.
The incident occurred around 10:00 AM when a truck carrying 12 passengers, all workers from Kulgam, plunged into a deep gorge near Kararghat.
According to local authorities, the truck was en route to Shimla from Jammu when the driver lost control due to excessive speed and reckless driving, causing the vehicle to veer off the road and plunge into the gorge.
Rescue teams immediately rushed to the site but were unable to save six of the occupants who were declared dead on the spot.
The injured were swiftly evacuated to the Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMCH) in Shimla, where they are currently undergoing treatment for their critical injuries.
The deceased have been identified as:
- Fareed Ahmad, 24
- Ghulam Hussain Gorsi, 43
- Shabir Ahmad Deedar, 19
- Talib Hussain Tinda, 23
- Gulzar Ahmad Deedar, 30
- Mushtaq Ahmad Deedar, 30
All six were residents of Kulgam district in Jammu and Kashmir.
The tragic accident has sent shockwaves through the Kulgam community, with families and friends mourning the loss of their loved ones.
The local administration has expressed condolences to the bereaved families and has ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident.
