Geelani put under house arrest
Chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Geelani was detained at Srinagar Airport on his arrival from New Delhi on Wednesday.
Geelani had gone to Delhi to meet the Pakistan High Commissioner. On his return to Kashmir, he was escorted by police to his house at Hyderpora and put under house arrest. Later in the evening, Geelani, under police escort, was shifted to Bone and Joints Hospital here for X-ray of his back.
“Geelani sahib had slipped in Delhi while boarding a vehicle and was suffering with pain in his back. Doctors had advised him some tests including X-ray,” said Hurriyat (G) spokesperson Ayaz Akbar.
