Valley tour operators have expressed optimism for this year’s tourist arrivals after visiting Indian cities as part of tourism promotional programs.
Some tour operators who recently attended Jaipur, Delhi B2B marts besides J&K tourism road shows in Delhi said they are hopeful of foreign and domestic tourism business for this season.
In a joint statement, the tour operators said more than 500 foreign and domestic inbound tour operators visited J&K tourism stalls at GITB – Jaipur and at GET India – Delhi.
“They committed full support to send foreign and domestic tourists to Kashmir at the earliest,” read the statement.
The statement said both foreign and domestic tour operators expressed total confidence in the facilities offered by various service providers in Kashmir & Ladakh.
“They assured the local tour operators that they would put Kashmir back on their brochures as a priority destination,” read the statement.
It said their emphasis was more on promoting the cultural heritage besides new lesser known destinations.
Local tour operators and Chairman of J&K Hoteliers Club Mushtaq Chaya also participated in Delhi road shows organised by J&K Tourism where in a large number of Delhiites witnessed the brand promotion of Kashmir.
“They showed keen interest to visit Kashmir at the earliest.”

Large number of tourists from NCRT regions, Rajasthan and Punjab do visit Kashmir round the year. The press meet organised by Director Tourism Kashmir in Jaipur proved very fruitful as Kashmir’s tourism potential was highlighted in all the leading papers of Rajasthan.”
Chairman of J&K Hoteliers Club, President KHARA, President ATOAK and Chairman J&K PILTOF however urged the Chief Minister to take up further promotional activity/ road shows personally at other destinations where from good number of tourists visit kashmir to give further fillip to tourism.
The statement said the tour operators who recently travelled to Delhi and Jaipur went on their own expenses to keep Kashmir live as the most productive destination of Central Asia in all travel marts.
The adventure operators said they are for the first time receiving adventure related queries for different adventure activities in a large number after a gap of nearly two decades.
“This has been possible with the aggressive marketing efforts of prominent tour operators.”
It said world’s famous adventure explorer and travel writer, Garry Weare is presently camping in Srinagar in connection with his trekking arrangements for this summer for Australian Tourists.
