‘6 suspected cases admitted in GMC Jammu, 3 test negative’

Six suspected cases of Swine Flu have been admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) here, officials said. Of these, they said, three tested negative while reports of other three are awaited.
Principal GMC Jammu Dr. Ghansham said most suspected cases admitted in the hospital are from city areas. “Out of six, three patients have tested negative, while blood samples of remaining three have been sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases New Delhi for examination,” he told .
Dr Ghansham said patients with suspected Swine Flu have been kept in specially-created isolated Flu Ward in the hospital. “We have procured the required stocks of H1N1 drug to deal with Swine flu cases,” he claimed.
He said as a precautionary measure, the hospital administration has set up a special Out Patient Department (OPD) to examine the suspected flu cases.
