Highway to remain closed on Mar 28
The Srinagar-Jammu National Highway, which links the summer capital with rest of the nation, will remain closed for vehicular traffic on March 28 due to repair work on the road, the state government said today.
“The general public is informed that the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway shall remain closed on March 28 and no movement of vehicular traffic, whatsoever, either from Jammu or Valley shall be allowed on highway, “Inspector General (IG) Traffic Jammu, J P Singh said.
“This will be effective from 1500 hours of March 27”, he said.
“The decision has been taken to carry out the repair of portion of road at Magarkote that has sunk and other bottlenecks which could not be addressed earlier by the concerned authority due to continuous flow of traffic on highway after it was temporally restored for one way traffic”, the IG
