Hindu fanatics plotting to assassin Masarrat in Jail
The Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League has said that Indian Hindu terrorist groups have devised a plot to assassinate senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, in jail.
A statement issued by the party in Srinagar maintained that it had confirmed reports that the Hindu fanatics were on their job to implement the pernicious plan. The Muslim League has warned if any harm was caused to Masarrat Aalam Butt, the Indian government would be responsible for the consequence. The forum led by the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement also warned India of disastrous fallout against the execution of such a heinous plot. It urged the world community and human rights organizations to take serious notice of threat to the life of illegally detained senior Hurriyet leader, Masarrat Aalam Butt, and demanded that he should be shifted from Kot Bhalwal jail Jammu to Srinagar.
Meanwhile, complete shutdown was observed, today, to mark the martyrdom anniversaries of Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq, Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone and martyrs of Hawal. All shops, business establishments and educational institutions remained closed while traffic was off the road. The puppet authorities resorted to restrictions and imposition of curfew to sabotage the march towards the Martyrs’ Graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar, today, to pay homage to prominent liberation leaders.
The authorities put Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Maulana Abbas Ansari and Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi under house arrest. Indian police took into custody APHC leader, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Engineer Hilal Ahmed War and Shahid-ul-Islam and lodged them in different police stations to prevent them from leading the march.
Senior APHC leader, Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, in an interview in Srinagar said that the relevant UN resolutions provide the best solution to the long-pending Kashmir dispute. He called for greater unity among the resistance camp to carry forward the ongoing liberation movement in a more effective manner.
On the other hand, several people were injured when Indian troops and police personnel resorted to brute force on anti-India protest demonstrations at Palhallan in Baramulla district, today. People also staged anti-India protests in Char-e-Sharief area of Badgam against the highhandedness of Indian police.
