Kashmiris to observe Martyrs Day today

Kashmir Martyrs day is being observed on both sides of the Line of Control today on Monday with the renewal of pledge to continue the mission of martyrs till the complete liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and accession of the whole state to Pakistan.

Kashmiris to observe Martyrs Day todayThe day is being observed to commemorate the martyrdom of those Kashmiris who laid down their lives in front of Srinagar Central Jail on this day in 1931 for the cause of freedom from Dogra Rule.

The day will dawn with special prayers for the souls of martyrs, solidarity and prosperity of Pakistan and early liberation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It will be a close holiday in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Functions, seminars and rallies will be held throughout the state to pay homage to the martyrs of 1931.

In the state capital Muzaffarabad a function would be held under the auspices of Kashmir liberation cell at central Press club.

Leaders of various political parties and representatives of religious, social and cultural organizations would address on the occasion.

Later a rally will be taken out from the Press club. The participants of the rally will march to UN Observes Mission in Muzaffarabad to hand over a memorandum demanding the world community to persuade India to stop state terrorism in occupied Kashmir and implement UN security Council resolutions for the settlement of longstanding Kashmir dispute.
